Owner Sabina Gabriele graduated cosmetology school in 2012 in Joliet, Illinois, but got her first introduction to cutting hair when she took classes as a senior in high school. It was from these humble beginnings that she found a passion for barbering and went to school in Albuquerque, New Mexico, graduating with her Barber’s License in 2017.

In 2019, however, Sabina and her young daughter moved to Colorado, where she worked and saved money with the dream of opening her own barbershop. Despite a pandemic and the challenges of being a single mother, Sabina persevered and founded the Cavern Barbershop in 2021.

Paying homage to her roots, she got the idea for her barbershop from “Carlsbad Caverns” in New Mexico, and chose wolves for a logo because of what they represent: loyalty, family and friendship, teamwork, and freedom.
